When thinking of planning a holiday all one can think of is to go to the same old destinations such as the hill stations or the same old fort and palaces. Thus there are whole new places that still need to be visited and explored. They are all different from the usual holiday destination. Following are the few places which are un-touched and peaceful.
Binsar
Situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters is the impressive and majestic Himalayan destination of Binsar. Offering a scenic beauty of high ranges of Chaukhamba, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Shivling and Panchchuli it is a quite place surrounded entirely by rich and wild flora and fauna.
Kanatal
Kanatal is all together an exciting experience. It is at a distance of 320kms from Delhi near Nainital. The entire place is covered and fully surrounded with orchards. It is situated in the Himalayan region.
Pangot
It is a small village in the high hills of Himalayas. It is covered with dense jungles of oak woods. The famous places to visit are the Viewpoint & Kilbury. One can spend the whole day getting a view of the snow caped Himalayas from Kilbury. It is an all day picnic spot. It’s at a distance of merely 15kms from Nainital in the treacherous hilly area. Te only conveyance available is a self driven 4 wheel jeep.
Bhowali
This place is famous for the health resorts and the widely spread fruit markets. It is not a crowded tourist spot and thus has cheap accommodation and budget rooms. The climate here is generally mild all year round. The place is 11kms before Nainital.
Ramgarh
At a distance of only 25kms from Nainital this place is full of fruit orchards of almost all kinds of fruits. This place is very far from the hustle-bustle of the crowded cities. There is just peace and tranquility in the area. One can hear only the chirping of birds and the sounds of other animals nearby. The place is close to Mother Nature. The view of the snow caped mountain peaks of Great Himalayas is a serene beauty.
Chamba
Having been found in the 6th century Chamba is one of the oldest Princely States of India in Himachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by many other hill stations fom all sides. It has Jammu and Kashmir in the North, Ladakh in the East, Kangra and Gurdaspur in the South.
Naldehra
Naldehra was discovered by the British Viceroy Lord Curzon. Naldehra is the oldest golf course in India (Shimla). The tall deodhars flank the links making Naldehra a wonderful sports venue. It is located amidst the beauty of little hillocks perched at a height of 2044mts.
Chail
Chail is a quiet and serene hill station at a very high altitude. It’s not like the other hill stations which are generally crowded with tourists. The place is really very beautiful and has good accommodation facility varying from budget hotels to luxurious ones.
Dharmshala
The hill station of Dharmshala is set in the back drop of snow clad Dhauladhar ranges of Himalayas. It is the main town of Kangra entirely surrounded by pine and deodhar forests. There are also streams flowing nearby and it serves as the best picnic spot during the daytime with family and friends. The famous head quarters of Dalai Lama are also based here. The famous places to visit are: War memorial, Kotwali bazaar. Dal Lake is the famous one around with boating available in the evening time. It is only 11kms away from Dharmshala.
The other places of attraction are St. John’s Church, Mcleodganj, Tilokpur, Sujanpur Tira, Dharmkot etc. Temples of Jawalamukhi, Chamunda Devi and Briheshwari Devi.
