Naldehra
Naldehra was discovered by the British Viceroy Lord Curzon. Naldehra is the oldest golf course in India (Shimla). The tall deodhars flank the links making Naldehra a wonderful sports venue. It is located amidst the beauty of little hillocks perched at a height of 2044mts.
Naldehra got its name from dehra of god Naag which is in the centre of the course. There is also a walk path paved for the travelers to enjoy the good morning walk early in the morning. One can also go in for walks and picnics in the woods among the long pine trees.
Naldehra is at a distance of 392kms from Delhi. The best way to reach there is by road. The entire journey will take around 10hrs and the route would be via Chandigarh. If one wants to go by rail then the nearest station is shimla.
Naldehra is an all year round holiday destination. The summers are pleasant here making it the peak season for the visitors. The winters on the other hand are too cold, but still one can enjoy the weather by carrying a few extra woolens.
The accommodation available in Naldehra is limited i.e. of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Log Huts and Hotel Golf Glades. To be on safe side while planning a holiday in peak season one is recommended to get their booking done well in advance.
