At a Distance about 55 Km from Nainital and at the altitude of 2286 m Mukteshwar is the prettiest Himalayan resort. We move ahead from Ramgarh. Surrounded by fruit orchards and thick Coniferous forests it was developed by a Britisher as the only place for research and education in veterinary science in 1893.
It is the celebrated science spot overlooking long ranges of Himalayan in north and twinkling lights of Kashipur, Bazan etc. in the south. On one of the side you can see glittering lights of Almora and on other side Ramgarh.
At this place Gagar Ranges meets Lohukhet Ranges which makes it paradise in perfection. An old Shiva (Mukteshwar Mahadev) temple exists in a spout like rock the highest spot of the locality. Foreign scientists use to call it ‘Wish Temple’. To see the beauty of this place there are so many hotels and resorts in Mukteshwar to stay. Mukteswar is a small hamlet offering basic facilities only.
It is connected with outside world with Radio telephone, besides the normal line telephones which gets snapped in winter due to snow.

Mukteshwar is 350 km from Delhi (7 hours drive from Delhi).
Nearest railhead Kathgodam Just 70 Km from here on can take taxi or buses.

Throughout the year Mukteshwar is Best destination for holiday but May to June and Oct to Jan is the best season to visit. Light woolens are fine for summer, but heavy winter woolens are necessary in winter.
