
Dalhousie is a magnificent hill station located on the western border of the range of The great Himalayas. It is a pleasure to here for summers. Dalhousie is set on five hills - Kathlog, Potreyn, Tehra, Bakrota and Balun and facing the Pir Panjal range, one can view the Ravi, Beas and Chenab rivers from certain vantage points. Snow caped peaks and fold of mountains just adds a new meaning to life.
Climate: The best season to travel to Dalhousie is from Mid May to Mid October.

- Distance: It is located at a distance of 92 kms from Dharamshala and From Shimla it is 254 kms.
- By Train: The nearest railway station is at Pathankot which is about 80 kms from Dalhousie. The railway station is connected with all major cities of India.
- By Air: The nearest airport is Gaggal which is at about a distance of 140 kms. It is well connected with other cities.
- By Bus: The journey from Pathankot to Dalhousie is by road. Various other cities are also well connected by road Manali : 402 kms, Amritsar : 188 kms, Delhi : 563 kms, Jammu : 188 kms.
What to see and what to do:
Dalhousie offers a variety of beautiful scenic and historically important sight seeing spots:
- Churches: Few of the well known and a must visit churches are St Andrew’s church, St Patrick’s church, St. Francis church and St, John’s church.
- Panchpula: A monument built in the memory of freedom fighter Ajit Singh.
- Subhash Baoli: A place where Subash Chandre Bose used to spend majority of his time. Also one can get a majestic view of the snow capped peaks.
- BaraPathar: A famous temple in the middle of thick forest. It is on the way between the Kalatop sanctuary and the Dalhousie Municipal limits.
- Kalatop: A wild life sanctuary which is home to ghoral, black bear, barking deer and various other wild species.
- Jandighat Palace: The palace belongs to Raja of Chamba and once can get to see wild strawberries all along the way.
- Daikund: The tallest peak around Dalhousie from where one can see the Chenab, The beas and The Ravi. Also there is a very popular Devi mandir.
- Chanmba: There are lots of places to visit there like Rang Mahal Palace, Bhuri singh Museum and famous old temples.
Dalhousie also offers various huge bazaars for shopping like Gandhi chowk, Tibetan Market, Himachal handloom industry emporium and many more.
