Rishikesh is a religious town in Uttarakhand located at the place from where The Ganga comes down from The Himalayas. The town is known as the World Capital of Yoga since the time The Beatles came to visit Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Rishikesh is the gateway to the Himalyas and this is where the Char Dham yatra ideally begins.
Ajmer was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the 7th century. The city is a unique mix of Hinduism and Islam. Ajmer is now synonymous with the Dargah of the sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti. Ajmer lies at the base of Pushkar.
Alwar earlier known as Mewat and an ancient state is nearest to Delhi. Alwar is famous for its National Park and huge palaces. Palaces that belong to the 18 th century and have a fine blend of Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. Various forts make their presence e felt in the tourist maps.
Pushkar is located 15 kms towards the north west of Ajmer. Pushkar is believed to have come into existence when Lord Brahma the creator of Universe dropped his lotus flower from his hand on to earth. The petals landed at three spots and water magically appeared at those places amidst desert forming three beautiful lakes.
